Marketing Intern

Description: This position is responsible for developing a marketing plan, developing all aspects of media outreach and the development of media materials for a new campaign led by high school youth.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to designing a strategic plan for print, digital and social media while creating materials and implementing the plan.  Duties include website, Facebook and Twitter maintenance, development of press releases, letters to the editor and other media aspects, development of media and fundraising campaigns, donor information management and other marketing tasks. Opportunities exist to connect with media and donors in creative ways.  This position will assist with the development of reasonable goals for the position with the opportunity to add personal goals and will be under the supervision of the Executive Director.

Requirements and Skills:  Junior or senior majoring in Marketing or Business Administration with a marketing emphasis preferred.  Graphic design skills required.  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as this position interacts with all agency staff, donors and the general public.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Photoshop.  Must be able to show creativity, initiative and be a team player.

Date of Internships:  Negotiable.  September 2017 through May 2018.  Hours are negotiable but must be Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  The position will be paid for no more than 10 hours per week but may provide additional hours of service as needed to obtain required internship hours.

Wage:  $10.00 per hour.
